Nokia has really stepped up with the Nokia 808 PureView. This smartphone features a 41 megapixel sensor that is capable of capturing some amazing pictures.
The smartphone uses Carl Zeiss optics as expected and also uses Nokias own developed algorithms to process pictures.Although it's a 41 megapixel sensor, the maximum you can use is 38 megapixels. As the resolution is so high, you can easily take a large picture and then just crop to the part you want while still having a respectable resolution picture available at the end.The camera can capture at 1080p and also has 4x lossless zoom thanks to the huge amount of megapixels available.
Focussing on the camera here, the device can capture pictures at 2/3, 5 and 8 megapixels if needed and by choosing to shoot this way, digital zoom can be used without losing any clarity as there's more megapixels that can fill in the gaps rather than cutting them out and making the image look blocky.
The device is said to have "superior low-light performance" and can compact images down so that they can be more easily emailed and shared with people.
