The Miss USA beauty contest has been held annually since 1952 to select the United States entrant in the Miss Universe pageant. The Miss Universe Organization operates both pageants, as well as Miss Teen USA. The pageant is broadcast on NBC and (starting 2013) on Xbox Live.


The current Miss USA is Olivia Culpo from Rhode Island who won the title on June 3, 2012.
19 year old Olivia Culpo became the first woman from Rhode Island to win the Miss USA title at a glittering event at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. She will represent the USA at the Miss Universe Pageant in December.

Miss Rhode Island Olivia Culpo

The new Miss USA is Miss Rhode Island, Olivia Culpo (19). She beat 50 other delegates to win the crown at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. She became the 1st the winner from her state. The new Miss USA stands 1.7m tall (5'7") and she will represent her country at Miss Universe 2012 in December.

The first runner-up was Miss Maryland ,27 year old Nana Meriwether. The second runner-up was 20 year old Audrey Bolt from Ohio. Jade Kelsall (26) who competed as Miss Nevada was the third runer-up while the four runner-up was Miss Georgia, Jasmyne Wilkins (21) .TUNE IN to NBC on June 3rd at 9PM ET to watch the 2012 MISS USA Competition LIVE from Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas!A nerd cellist from the smallest state in the union who supports transgendered pageant contestants won the Miss USA pageant Sunday night.
